MySQL Camp Recap and Google Advertising

MySQL Camp II is over, and it was a blast. We very much enjoyed sponsoring t-shirts and feel it was a success. I got a chance to talk with a large number of people who attended and I enjoyed hearing about everyone's different skill sets and areas of expertise. Ideas were shared, and it was a very neat two days.

Everyone I spoke with seemed very supportive of Too Many Connections and what we're trying to do. To hear people echoing my thoughts that before Too Many Connections, there wasn't one destination for employers and employees to connect for MySQL jobs. It was very enthusing. I hope that everyone enjoys their Too Many Connections t-shirts and will wear them proudly.

A few days ago we launched an advertising campaign on Google. You'll see our ad when you're searching for MySQL job related keywords, including this ad up top.

Too Many Connections is off to a good start and it can continue to grow. There is a high demand for qualified MySQL database professionals and they're not always easy to find. We aim to provide the space where companies can find those professionals they need for their business and where a rock star DBA can find a job that will challenge and interest them.

Too Many Connections Provides T-Shirts for MySQL Camp

Too many connections is sponsoring t-shirts for the MySQL Camp II, which is being held at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York this Thursday and Friday, August 23 and 24. And yesterday afternoon the t-shirts arrived in three large boxes.

And they look great! The front has a big "Too many connections" across it, and the sleeve has the MySQL Camp II logo on it.

So if you're coming to the camp, we look forward to seeing you there! It's going to be great. If you need directions to the university, visit Google Maps for driving directions or HopStop.com for subway directions.

If you haven't signed up yet but are interested in coming, visit the MySQL Camp II website to find out more about the camp. If you want to sign up, email jay (at) mysql.com with your name, Company or Affiliation, your location, and an email address. It's free to attend, and so many leading industry experts are attending, it's sure to be a great two days of shop talk. A maximum of 200 people can attend, and it starts tomorrow, so sign up quick!

If you cannot make it to the camp but are in the New York City area, join us at the next NYC MySQL Meetup on September 18th at Suspenders Bar in lower Manhattan.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize this camp, Jay Pipes at MySQL, Mark Simony at Logicworks, and everyone else who put time and effort to make this camp a reality.
